about me

i am currently a doctoral candidate and life sciences fellow at the university of missouri, working under my dissertation advisor, karthik panchanathan, and frequent collaborator & committee member, hannah rubin. my research integrates socio-cultural anthropology, psychology, and metascience to develop theoretically-grounded, empirically-validated network simulations with an emphasis on translating social dynamics into computational frameworks. i enjoy applying social theory to create network simulations that reflect real-world network phenomena. my current research interests lie in exploring the applications of computational models to social capital exchanges (cooperation and collaboration), norm development, and socio-cultural networks.

i am working toward a doctorate in cultural anthropology from the university of missouri. i also hold a masters in anthropology from the university of missouri & a bachelors with honors in psychology and biology from william & mary. beyond academia, i enjoy making art, collecting records, reading, and everything else creative.

the intersection of art & science :

creativity, aesthetics, & patterns lie between the arts and the sciences, manifesting themselves in the structure underlying life & the universe around us. i enjoy exploring this beautiful & oftentimes profound relationship in my own time. to me, these convergences reflect the very core of the human experience : the ability to observe, interpret, question, & create. art can be found everywhere.

here are my favorite examples of this interconnectedness — i hope they resonate with you as they did with me. click on a piece to learn more about the source of the image & the theory underlying it.
